Dead Skin Color and Race

Living in a dry climate (Colorado), I get plenty of dead skin flaking off regularly. I noticed it’s pretty close to pure white and wondered if that’s because I’m Caucasian. Do people with other skin colors produce differently colored dead skin?

Nup. Seen plently of black people with peeling skin from sunburns.

Cool. Thanks.

Hubby leaves really, really dark crap in the tub after a shower-- me, not so dark. The kids bathtub rings seem to vary according to their different shades. I’d guess that dead skin cells do vary by skin color.

I was told that ash is what you get when you look at brownish living skin through a layer of whitish clear dead skin…
is that not true or not relevant?
