Deadliest Catch: Fishing Crab and Jumping Sharks

I used to be a huge Deadliest Catch fan, but my enthusiasm has been slowly waning since Captain Phil’s passing back in…2010? 2011?

I think DC is going through what every long-running TV show goes through where you have to FIND new about the daily grind. Or INVENT something new. I put Mandy being on the Northwestern in this category or Elliot’s girlfriend being on the Saga. A few seasons ago the producers had both Jakes switch boats for part of the season. There have been other so-obvious-production-has-something-to-do-with-this incidents. That doesn’t surprise me. Neither is the fact that they’re obviously running out of steam.

But yeah, I sometimes still watch because I’ve developed a fondness for many of the cast members over the years. Other than that, eh.

If that was the show in the Copper Center area those people were 1/2 a mile from a pizza shop. That was another show that made the locals mad. People in the area wanted the outside world to know that they were the only family living like that.

The community liked the money that the crews brought in though.

The stupid tweets are my biggest gripe about the show, I hate them, but I’m uncontrollably drawn to them. They are impossible to ignore, and they are the most vapid comments one could possibly imagine.

I’ve always wished that they’d explain a little more about the biology of the crabs, or explore the dynamics of the crab market.

No way they will ever do that though.

No kidding. What would the odds be of those two being on the boats if there weren’t TV cameras around?

Since that idiot Elliot took over, the Saga is aptly named. Who knows? Maybe his next boat will be the Drama Queen.

Off the grid but savvy enough to get an agent and shop the show idea.

But mostly it’s how the show it hyped that I have a problem with. Not as much with the content.
