Dealing with trees/stumps in a *forceful* manner.

If I live through this as I wrestle with this ominous structure of Mother Nature, I will be more qualified than you as a stump consultant… think about that.
Besides, most people who win that award are those who DON’T think before they act… this OBVIOUSLY not being the case.

If organics is the new benchmark, I propose maranading the tree stump in a hoison-teriyaka soy paste for several weeks.

Then announce an international vegan convention.

Or, think Purina Woodpecker Chow.

For me, the winner was money. Wave some money in the air and wait for a strapping young lad to show up with a hydraulic stump grinder.

That was some of the best $180/hour I’ve spent in a long time.

/em refreshes http://www.sun-sentinel.com, http://www.herald.com, http://www.palmbeachpost.com in anticipation.

Or don’t think it all the way through. I hope you have much much more than ‘internet-gained knowledge’ in the handling of ordinance and explosive devices.

Some of the trees they destumped around here had diameters of 20 feet or more; took a lot of heavy moving equpiment. On the other hand, stumps on my daily walk (between 2 and 2.5 feet in diameter) only took and afternoon’s grinding.

How big is the stump, what kind of root system (I see you mention ficus but I can’t tell if that is the stump you are dealing with), and why is it so urgent to remove it urgently and in a uniqueish way?
