Dear SUV driver: Not to put too fine a point on it ...

Not clear, exactly. Just more likely.

Once, again, on a two-hour drive, I saw two vehicles in ditches. One was an SUV. Hundreds or thousands of other vehicles managed to stay on the road. Why didn’t the SUV? Could it be the lousy road-handling qualities of the SUV combined with the attitude of the driver?

And the handling characteristics of the SUV make it far less likely to recover in such situations. Combine that with the – yes – arrogance that many such drivers display.

The fuckwit quotient? Steadily growing.

No. Are you having a problem believing that more than one person has seen an obnoxious SUV driver?

That explains my sudden wave of nausea.

Nope. I’ve seen obnoxious SUV drivers myself. I’m simply pointing out that you have the same zealotry about SUVs as a previous banned poster and you linked to his favorite website.

You notice how people have been saying stuff like “SCORE!” to you? We’re all referring to Fatherjohn, our long gone but fondly remembered for his comedic value SUV zealot who you have at times resembled.

Nothing personal. I don’t happen to agree with you, but my opinion doesn’t really matter anyway. I’m just having a little fun at your expense.

-But you’re not ranting about the other driver, are you? Two vehicles off in the ditch; do you rant about “stupid drivers” in general? Nope- you’re whining about them damned SUV drivers, which comprise only half of the obviously-bad drivers in your sample.

Apparently the one driver was a careful, cautious and very safe driver that simply suffered some random and regrettably unavoidable accident, while the SUV driver was apparently driving much too fast, far to arrogantly, and was probably both shaving and talking on a cellphone while he did it.

Asshole.

I whole heartedly agree. It rises expotentially every single time you post to this ill conceived bastard of a thread.

I googled for something like SUV stopping distances. It came up.

So you are saying that it is zealotry to wish that people who buy SUVs learn the handling characteristics of them?

As much as I’ve flamed and been flamed, I have taken nothing personally here, and I hope others feel the same.

You throw up when people look at you? Weird.

For a would-be Latin scholar, Pucky, you have an awful lot of trouble grasping reductio ad absurdum.

As you’ve seen (if you bothered to look at the Great Debates SUV threads I linked to) it is possible to discuss this subject in a reasonable manner among people who show a degree of intelligence and rationality.

Regarding the quality of your OP here and subsequent slobberings, there’s no reason to address you with any civility.
You’re a twit.

No, they throw up when they look at him!

(Just beating the unimaginative asshats to it.)

How about honesty? You denied making such a statement and demanded a cite. I pointed it out. You haven’t owned up to it yet.

As for civility, this is the Pit, that’s Great Debates. What’s there about the difference you don’t understand? I came here specifically to vent spleen about an idiot SUV driver. I respect and enjoy any cunning and original flames aimed at me. What I don’t respect is dishonesty like yours. Or the fact that your macho bravado shriveled up like your dick on a real date when confronted with a mod. Not that I disagree with what Ukelele Ike said: it was spot on. But you took the Eddy Haskell thing to a new level of weaselliness.

I guess civility is a relative thing.

Pucky, that’s the first intelligent thing you’ve said so far!

(Where have all the decent flamers gone? Sigh.)

I like pickles.

My SUV’s exhaust smells like cat food.

Yes. You’ve provided us with many shining examples. Also demonstrations of your cranial capacity, which can apparently be measured in microns.

Some people are smart enough to realize when they’ve been whooshed. Numerous posters have countered your driveling idiocy about SUVs with mocking declarations about their hostile intent while on the road, and your response has been further squealings of outrage.

How dense can you possibly be?

As to those deep psychological issues you must resolve, I’m sure help is available in your community. Get a referral now.

35’ difference in a high performance sports car and a truck. BFD! Don’t drive over your sight.

Gee you mean a big heavy truck takes a little longer to stop than a little light car???-wow!!!
Thank God for Edmunds - who would have ever known

Fascinating article in the latest Journal of Nutrition: Morbid Obesity In Trolls - The Therapeutic Value Of Portion Control.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but the authors do have a good argument.

Some people (not you) have the balls to stick by their opinions when faced with authority figures. You display exactly the type of chickenshit behavior that’s expected from wannabes who have to hide behind the bulk of an SUV.

It’s been said that a drunk man speaks a sober man’s mind. This alleged humor reveals a good deal about the outlook of many SUV drivers.

My, my. How nicely and petitely you flame once somebody stands up to you.

I don’t want you to get a referral.

I just want you to get fucked.

Precisely. What I’ve been ranting about here is not so much SUVs in and of themselves but people who believe they can get behind the wheel of one and drive it like a car – or faster.
