Death and Igors (Discworld)(Open Spoilers abound)

Weird thoughts come to me in the weirdest places. This one popped into my head as I was waiting for my breakfast at a local drive-thru this morning.

What does DEATH think about Igors? After all, a lot of beings are walking around that by all rights should be dead because of Igors. Is DEATH pleased at the temporary reduction in work? What do Igors do to lifetimers? Or is DEATH above it all, since everybody gets his attention eventually? What about vampires? Does DEATH come for them when they are changed, or when they are eaten by Greebo? What is DEATH’s relationship with Reg Shoe? Why did DEATH come for Lord Hong, while Teach was carried off by Valkyries? Are Valkyries a competing firm?

So many questions…

Somebody find a dwarf occultist wanted by the Watch so we can ask Pterry.

DEATH doesn’t seem to be in a hurry - consider all the time DEATH has had a near-Vimes experience and doesn’t seem put off by that at all. I don’t think death cares if an Igor extends someone’s life, or if anything else extends a life.

Not so sure about vampires, Reg Shoe, and some of your other questions.

Discworld people get the afterlife they were expecting. So maybe they get the version of an escort to it that they’re expecting?

I have retract the bit about Teach. Just reread the section and DEATH does show up for him, He just promptly hands Teach off to Brunnhilde.
