Agreed. The ever-so-slightly-left-of-center voter has been getting whatever he wants in the long term for 230 years of American history. Which I’m good with.
Now, true independents- those furt describes, too far left for the Democrats or too far right for the Republicans- have been getting shafted 230 years, which I’m okay with, too.
Honestly, I’ve felt for a long time that if the Libertarian Party didn’t keep nominating overwrought ex-Republicans as its candidates it would start winning Congressional seats. Unfortunately, its current leadership seem to feel that Libertarian means “against big government, but alright with pot.”
