Debbie Wasserman Schultz Served Class Action Lawsuit for Rigging Primaries

I’m not sure what to make of this. Apparently the class includes anyone who donated to Bernie Sanders campaign. It’s based on the supposed “rigging” of the primaries by Schultz and the DNC. While I think that there appeared to be favoritism displayed by the DNC, I doubt that it rises to the level of something that can be successfully sued for, but IANAL so who knows. I do wonder about the effects on our political system if this were to any extent successful.

10 seconds of looking at Beck’s Twitter feed shows me he’s quite a butt hurt Bernie Bro. And yes, I use Bernie Bro to demean Beck.

Wasserman Schultz is horrible and needs to go, but this suit will probably go nowhere.

Odds on this being a GOP-funded ratfuck?

No, these lawyers were pursuing nutball legal tactics against Trump a few years ago.

Considering how the GOP feels about Trump, that’s not all that decisive.

Low, since DWS doesn’t really matter anymore.

Right. This is clearly some diehard Bernie supporters. I supported him but he lost and now I’m happy to vote for Hillary.

I’m starting to get a bit fed up with some of his supporters at this point.

Some circuit court judge is gonna have a good day laughing at those guys.

I really hope that quote isn’t completely accurate. I’d seriously have to question the competence of any attorney that used ‘retribution’ for ‘restitution’ in a legal filing.

“Starting to” ???***

IANAL, which is why I’m not prepared to presume that “retribution” doesn’t have a meaning in law equivalent to “refund” or “redistribution.” I will note that “restitution” generally implies that it is a remedy for stealing or other misappropriation alleged to have occurred, and the lawsuit appears to make no such allegation.

Regardless, the sentence containing the suspect word is unparseable as written.

The Latin roots of retribution mean to pay back, so it could have a legal meaning that makes the sentence a little less nonsensical.

Okay, go with that, and now parse this sentence: “The fourth claim of the lawsuit seeks retribution of any monetary donations the DNC to Bernie Sanders’ campaign.”

I dare you.

Rosario Dawson is another Sanders diehard. She’s been posting that she plans on protesting and getting arrested at the DNC.

This has caused me to lose respect for Dawson. I’d still have sex with her but the marriage is off.

If you replace ‘retribution’ with ‘redistribution’, it makes a sentence. Any chance that ‘retribution’ in a legal sense means rerouting something from one place or person to another?

No, it still wouldn’t make sense. It seems to be missing words. If I had to guess I’d say that

“any monetary donations the DNC to Bernie Sanders’ campaign”

should be

“any monetary donations the DNC made to Bernie Sanders’ campaign”

but even that wouldn’t make sense because it would mean that they’re asking for the campaign to give money back to the DNC, which is obviously not what they’re trying to achieve.

This is just the kind of thing that will drive Bernie Sanders out of the Democrat party and make him an independent.

We’ll never survive without his constant nagging, bitching, finger pointing and temper tantrums. This is terrible.

Yeah. Definitely missing words. I was guessing something like - the lawsuit seeks redistribution of any monetary donations made to the DNC to Bernie Sanders’ campaign. You know, donation poaching.

Agreed on both accounts. This is nonsense.
