Wow, that’s quite a series of leaps. Deconstruction had an offshoot. The offshoot influenced the, “whole language” approach. The “whole language” approach is empirically suspect (the latter claim made without substantiation).
I suppose you could indict Hegelism because Marx was influenced by it and he influenced Castro. Or Plato, since he influenced Nietchze and Nietchze influenced that WWII axis leader who shall remain nameless.
Anyway, can anybody point to any substantial social/political effect that deconstruction has had?
Ok, I really don’t get the whole deconstructionism thing. Isn’t that sorta like if someone says something and someone hears something different, like inferring?
If all these Dr. Suess books have such horrible meanings like racism etc, then couldn’t just about anything have a double meaning? Disney has already been attacked, as well as some looney toons because they display sexual messages, or in case of the latter, violence. So what is “wholesome” for your child to watch these days?? If we can find harm in something like Dr. Seuss and other so-called “childrens stories” like for instance, Goldilocks, what is “safe”?
“Safe” is what Big Brother tells you is “safe.” Big Brother has always said that Dr. Suess, Goldilocks, and Bugs Bunny cartoons were bad for you. If you think otherwise, please report to the Ministry of Love immediately.
As a child and a very picky eater, I appreciated** Green Eggs and Ham** and interpreted it to mean that giving in to nagging was to fail and I ate nothing green willingly until I was 17 years old.
Vive la resistance.
Sorry, december did offer some substantiation. I retract that side point. **

Unfortunately I failed to shut off the bold face, so the reader couldn’t tell which part of my post was a quote. The portion flowbark picked up was a quote from tourbot.
