Deep Fried Dopers

OK, really, Dopers who deep fry, but I wanted your attention.

I have found a recipe for deep fried duck, but wondered if any of other Dopers had any experience with cooking ducks in a deep fryer. Any recipes you have tried and liked? It’s just me and my loving wife these days, and a turkey lasts for months (or four months). Ducks are so much more two-person sized and full of that oily goodness.

So, has anybody done ducks in a fryer?

I have not prepared it myself, but Peking Duck, which is deep fried, is seven times better than sex. Go for it.

Every Chinese duck recipe has a marinate, steam, then fry theme.

I’ll do the marinate and fry, but wish to skip the steam.

And, if you want duck better than sex, use the California Cullinary Academy’s Barbecuing, Grilling and Smoking volume and do the Smoked Duck. Frankly. I want to spend fewer than 12 hours cooking next Thursday. In the summer it takes less time, but when it’s cold smoking takes too long.
