Can I ask why your son needed stitches? My son’s urologist said no stitches were necessary, but perhaps I need to ask for some more information.
Also, what drugs was he given for only one day? Antibiotics?

He had a stitch or 2 at the incision site. They were dissolving stitches, so they just disappeared on their own. He got tylenol with codeine for the pain; I can’t remember if he had antiobiotics. He only needed the tylenol the first day; after that, on the rare instances he complained, he got regular children’s tylenol.
He was a bit freaked out by the blood when he urinated, which went away by day two, and the split-stream of urine made him cry at first, then he found it interesting. Now he talks about the operation like it was no big deal. He recovered faster than my husband, who was freaking out because it was penis-related.
