Dell PC with an XP Home problem

I’m trying to fix a coworkers PC and it is giving me an error on bootup that I never saw before

STOP: c000021 {Fatal System Error}
The Session Manager Initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000034 (0x00000000 ox00000000).
The system has been shut down.
I am not able to boot to safe-mode command prompt and last known good does not do anything either.

Any suggestions other than using the recovery partition and erasing all her data?

Check out this MS article: Microsoft Support

Also, Google “The Session Manager Initialization system process” (in quotes) - this seems to be a common problem.

BTW not trying to be a bitch by telling you to Google - this is pretty much how many computer techs find the answers to their problems.

perhaps this will be helpful

You can probably plug her HDD into another machine and retrieve her data, the partitions are probably intact. Even if they are not any basic data recovery software can pull it.
