Democracy is dead in Georgia

…says the person who has been declaring what is “reasonable” and what obstacles to voting are trivial or not for quite a long time now. Oh look - more conservative hypocrisy.

Nice argument, counsellor. All that’s missing is a “libtard” reference and you’d have nailed it.

But let’s also point out that you’ve been perfectly happy to justify voter ID where one or two voters were at stake, but are cavilling about 750,000. Seems pretty “significant” to me. And that while you’re concerned that I and “the editorial board of Mother Jones” might take a particular view on voter suppression in whatever bizarre hypothetical you’ve cooked up in your mind, you seem perfectly fine with Kris Kobach and friends **actually **removing legitimate voters from the rolls in a manner designed to target voters of a specific political party. And yet more conservative hypocrisy.

I realize that your arguments basically boil down to “we’re rigging the system because we can, neener neener” but you can’t say that out loud because then it would be even more patently obvious that you are perfectly fine with the sort of partisan authoritarianism you are so quick to accuse me of, as long as your side benefits.

Now isn’t it about time you toddled off to ATMB to complain about how mean us liberals are all being to you?

That’s exactly how I see it shaping up. Republicans control many of the key states, and they’re going to toss out votes. And the Courts aren’t going to intervene. There’s no reason to stop removing voters from the rolls and no reason to shut down polling stations, consequently making voting difficult in the first place.

But this is the beginning. They will become more restrictive, and more aggressive. Making it more challenging to vote is merely the first step in stripping people of power. If authoritarians really want to tilt the balance of power in their favor, they have to start taking away their money and their freedom. It’s not enough to make voting more difficult - not when everyone can see that their policies favor the rich at the expense of the power. For Republicans to survive, the assault on people will have to go further, and it will.

Seems to be no end to Kemp’s attempts to steal the election:

Number of Georgia Voters Purged by Brian Kemp Continues to Climb

ATLANTA - A federal judge has issued a temporary order that would block Georgia’s election officials from rejecting any absentee ballots under Georgia’s Voter Signature Match Law without giving voters the opportunity to confirm their identity.

If the Dems lose Georgia, they will take this voter suppression case to court. Guess what happens next. Go on, take a wild stab at it!

Do I have to like beer to take a stab at it?

They will rule if wasn’t vote suppression but rather a drinking game?

From the link:

Scary thing is they have made it easier to buy a gun in Georgia than it is to vote. Democracy in action.

Second Amendment solutions? Or does that only apply for White people?

Absolutely it only applies to white people, especially in a shitholes like Georgia. If black peole started talking about the second amendment, Fox would be for gun control tomorrow.

Glock, Smith and Wesson, Ruger, they’d be cool with it. Equal rights, and all. Wonder how they will phrase the advertising, to say “Better get a gun, Whitey is coming for you!”.

But, you know, subtle.
