What’s Istook’s (R-Scumbag) situation? Is he a lame duck? Or in a seat so secure the “dead hooker” rule applies? I would have assumed “lame duck” would be the case. If not, this is the kind of thing that could spark a recall. Be nice to make the Repubs pay for this.

Just out of curiosity, what would the benefits of this sort of thing be? What could they gain by going through tax records?
I’m not trying to undermine the outrage. I’m simply having a large problem seeing why anyone would want this. 
Well, for one, they could scour the records of a certain Texas DA, to see if there’s any juicy donations to NAMBLA or Greenpeace, maybe a vacation home in San Francisco…
Of course, in 4 years, anyone who voted against this thing will be accused of “voting against deficit-reducing bills.”
