As I said before
Just because backup is hours away (and its not, as you said there was another officer on the island, even if he was the dead cop’s son), is no reason NOT TO REPORT WHAT’S GOING ON.

Kind of a surprising move to leave the shooting from the first episode unresolved. I really thought they were going to wrap Merritt Lingard’s story up really quickly in the final episode so they could get around to it. Were they just that confident they’d get another season?
No, it’s not solved, though there’s an implication that PC Anderson was shady and might have been set up. But that’s kind of clumsy since you’d have to assume (as the shooter) that other detectives would arrive. On the other hand, it muddies the investigation (as opposed to just gunning Anderson down on the street).
When Hardy crutches into the station his boss lady is looking at the file and says she has a job for him, but I don’t see her assigning him his own shooting any more than she would Morck.
A lot of things annoyed me, but bottom line is I watched 9 episodes in 30 hours. So part of me clearly enjoyed it.
Most of my quibbles have been raised, but I’ll mention that the obnoxious lead was actually no fun to watch, unlike Oldman in Slow Horses or Laurie in House.
Having the counselor dating a clone of Morck was too cutesy.
Could someone spend 4 years in solitary confinement with nothing to read, no windows, no recreations, and bounce back so well? (Not to mention no visible aging.)
