Describe a movie you saw and liked as a kid but can't remember its title

Here is one I have never been able to track down. It was a short film shown on 16mm sometime before 1978 at school because of Halloween. The short is about a new kids game called “Invasion” and the adults become increasingly paranoid as the film progresses. The final scene, I think, was of a parent hiding perhaps in a closet, their child trying to find them and slowly opening the door.

Possibly a version of “Zero Hour” by Ray Bradbury? This one post-dates your memory.

**When did it come out? **
I dont know, i would have seen it in the late 60’s, early 70’s

**Who was in it? **
I have no idea, actors wise, unless your name is Welch or Lollobrigida
I probably didnt remember it back then

What plot if any do you remember?
It was a scifi / horror movie, involved something of a discovered space craft or capsule that had been buried or something since the precambian time period. And a scientist of course.

There was something about large prehistoric bugs, and at the end i think the scientist
winds up getting his arm ripped off, and i seem to remember him walking down a stairway with his shoulder stump rubbing blood on the wall.
What was special to you about it?
I stayed up all night to watch it, of course now i cant remember what the heck it was, it was in black and white

Any other clues you can think of?
Sadly none. Anyone else have a clue?

Five Million Years to Earth(aka Quatermass and the Pit)

That arm ripped off is from another movie. Was there a severed head in a pan? Brain That Wouldn’t Die? The Brain That Wouldn't Die (1962) - IMDb

I love you, are you married?
LoL kidding.

You have no idea how long it’s bugged me that i could not remember that movies name.
I never realized it was on color. back then i dont think i knew anybody with a color TV

I do not remember a head in a pan, and i could be confusing 2 movies together.
They were the kinds of things WXIX in cincinnati played between 1AM and 5AM, so there would be unfortunate bouts of dozing off during a commercial, so you could be correct, i looked up a still shot of the lab from it, and it looks strangely familiar.
Damned commercial dozing

I remember a poor guy, white lab coat, arm torn off at the shoulder, trying to make his way back down a cellar type of stair case back to his lab, i will have to watch virginia’s head in a pan and see.

You obviously did not have trouble keeping awake during the commercials

Strange but look what i found in wikipedia, the whole movie

Anything by “Lash LaRue”. We used to watch this in the German cinemas after WWII and if we could beg enough coins to do so.

In German, it was called “Larrie Larrue”. Actually and in German - Phonetically: La RIE La Roo-heh"

He was Indiana before Indie was cool. Lash Larue!

I saw this movie in 1984 but it is an old black and white movie that looks as if were made in the1940s.
At the beginning of the movie there are a maid and a butler meticulously preparing their wealthy employer’s breakfast including heating the newspaper for that " fresh off the presses" feel. They work their way up to his room and the maid accidentally bumps the butler’s arm and he sighs and rolls his eyes and they return to the kitchen to start from scratch.
Later the servants accompany the wealthy family on a cruise and they are shipwrecked and the shoe is on the other foot because the butler is knowledgeable enough to survive and they eat crow and learn a valuable lesson. They are rescued by British sailors who start laughing when they see that the butler as returned to his suit and tie with a tray on his hand ready to resume his butler role.
It was a charning classic kind of movie.
Much obliged!

The Admirable Crichton

Yes, it must have been Zero Hour, but it wasn’t this version by the Ray Bradbury Theater, which I looked at on Youtube (or ABC’s “The Whisperers”). What I saw was definitely long before VHS. I searched for versions of Zero Hour, but nothing came up from the 1970s. Thanks for your help.

When did it come out? 50’s 60’s
Who was in it? unknown
What plot if any do you remember? a test pilot travels so fast that he is moving at high speed. Every thing he sees seems frozen, he realizes things are moving but very slowly He sees a girl on a trike about to get hit with a truck, but can’t do anything about
What was special to you about it?

Any other clues you can think of? it may have been a TV show like Twilight Zone or Outer Limits

It’s an Outer Limits epi called, “The Premonition.” The only reason I know is because I saw it recently, by accident.

YES! Thanks!! I hope I can find it!!

It’s on Hulu as we speak. HURRY! Before they change their mind. And while you’re in the neighborhood, catch the Sand Shark episode with Adam West (can not be watched too often).

Might it be Thief of Bagdad (1940)?

the plot of the movie was a boy was painting a church white with his dad and this guy (i think he was a gangster or something) wants to paint the church red. he then kills the dad and leaves a knife and the kid picks it up and tries to kill him a a bar and cant. he leaves the town and returns 10-20 years later. he befriends and a native american tribe and they try and kill this guy. the guy at this point has control over a lot of the town so they have to kill alot of people. its a western and ive been trying to figure out the name of this movie for years. i dont think anyone well known is in the movie and its probably from late 2000s early 2010s. if someone could help me out it would be well appreciated

I Don’t remember much for sure about the movie, but it was a vampire movie with a line, “The night belongs to the day which it follows”. It seems that it may have started with a woman detective investigating a series of murders; it seems that she met the vampire to find that he may have been hunting the murderer as well, (but I’m far from certain about that). It seems that they started falling in love, but he refused to change her. I seem to remember that he died watching one last sunrise with her. I Don’t know the actors’names, the production company, or anything like that. While I Don’t know when it was made, it seems that it had a “feel” of being made in the 80’s, but I Don’t know for sure.

To this day, I still think about the movie I saw as a little girl that gave me nightmares for many years. I’m 55 now and have thought about it to the point of going great distances to find the name.

Does anyone remember a movie where the last seen took place on a plane and as the person looked out the window some soft of animal or monster appeared at the window. I believe the plane was in flight. But don’t hold me to that, I was very young.

Thank you

Easy one.

Possibly the Twilight Zone episode Nightmare At 20,000 feet? It’s the Twilight Zone, so it’s only a few minutes long, but it involved a gremlin on the wing of a plane which ended up being real (kinda, no one actually saw it but Shatner, but there was evidence of it being there when the plane landed).
