Describe a movie you saw and liked as a kid but can't remember its title

It had to be between 1965-1967. I remember standing in my grandmother’s house on Canal Blvd in New Orleans watching a black and white TV. There was a movie on and I probably remember it because the skeletons scared me as a child. I cannot remember the name of the movie but the skeleton army…seems like hundreds of them, popping up out of the sand and rushing forward to fight. I seem to remember chariots and men dressed in Roman attire. But it was NOT Jason and the Argonauts.

Maybe 7th Voyage of Sinbad, also a Harryhausen movie?

No, that had a single skeleton. Spy Kids 2 had a skeleton attack but that’s too recent.

Hmmm…the nearest I can think of would be “War of the Zombies” (aka “Rome Against Rome”) from 1964, and the dates would be right, except A) the movie featured zombies, not skeletons, and B) from what I remember of the bits I’ve seen (or could see on grainy Youtube versions), there weren’t really many notable zombies, either.

The “Blind Dead” films would have been a few years too late, and while suitably skeletal looking, there weren’t “hundreds” of them. (Although the years, childhood terror, and the normal magic of cinematic framing could exaggerate the impression of their numbers)

could this be Thor and the Amazon Women 1963

WAMPA, number 2 sounds like you threw together Queen of Outer Space and a few other films in your mind.

This was a movie I saw in probably 1967 or 1968 on TV (don’t know if it was made for TV). The plot followed the life of a teenager in an orphanage who had amnesia and knew nothing about his past before he entered the orphanage. The only significant thing he remembered was a two word phrase (which I don’t remember). I think he may have thought it was his name but I’m not sure. Anyway, in the movie one of the social workers at the orphanage started working with him to see if she could help him regain his memory. With her help he gradually started to remember a little more and more until finally, at the end of the movie, he came to the realization that he had been with his parents at an intersection of two streets in a city as a child when they were murdered, the traumatic event causing his amnesia. The final scene was his vision of the street sign at the intersection, and of course the names of the two streets were the words of the two word phrase that he remembered. For some reason I seem to remember it occurred in Baltimore. I have since learned of a somewhat similar 1994 movie, the Silent Fall, which I thought might have been a remake of this but can find no indication of such.
I was just a kid when I saw it and was not that sophisticated but I really thought it was a startling, memorable ending and the movie was quite good. Wondering if anyone remembers what it was, thanks.

I’m obviously mixing two things up in my head. I’ve found that this happens a lot when I’m remembering things from my childhood.

Thanks for the name! I’m now going through her IMDB to see if I can place the film I’m remembering her from. I’m getting a strong image of her standing in a red Peter Pan collar dress scaring the crap out of me.

In the late 1980’s, I went to a camp with my Dad. It was a Stockade camp, though I don’t think that is relevant.

They showed us a movie on film reel. It was a time travel movie and we watched it over two nights. In the first half, the guy time traveled back to the past. Right at the mid-point, he traveled far into the future. We watched the future part the next day and all I remember was that everyone in the future wore white(perhaps even wearing the same uniform).

I don’t know what the movie was.

That really sounds like, “The Time Machine,” with Rod Taylor.

She wasn’t in “Annie.”

Looking for a movie I saw back in 2011. It was either a British or American film. I forget the actual setting, but it was village like. It’s about this family. Husband, wife, older daughter and young son. The husband and wife grow tired of each other and try to live separately or somehow change bodies, I forget which. The dad ends up playing video games for weeks and smoking pot, I think. The wife parties and dances her ass off or something. The daughter takes advantage of her father’s mental state. The strongest memory I have of the film was that the son would sometimes look out the bedroom window and see a woman, probably his sister, entering and exiting the back garden at odd hours of the night and morning.

The movie was made sometime between 2005 and 2011, and it was not Keeping Mum. I’m familiar with that movie. I’ve spent a year trying to figure out the name of this movie. Not having luck.

I can’t edit, but I wanted to say it wasn’t Crazy, Stupid, Love either. I’ve seen that movie way too much.

No idea about that one, I can’t even find the right search terms to google.
One that’s bugged me off and on over the years for no particular reason (since I have no interest in watching it again) is some late 90’s or early 00’s teen slasher flick, probably somewhat cheesy, even if it wasn’t meant to be.
The only thing I remember is them being stuck in a cabin in the woods, getting killed off one by one (could be off on the details on that part) and at some point someone notices that the people getting killed are named after the months of the year.

Two things:
1)I’m nearly positive I watched this with my now ex-wife, so that would set it prior to 2010, I’m 90% sure it was before we were married in 2005, probably back when we first started in the late 90’s.
2)I’m not a slasher flick person so for all I know this is some mainstream movie like Scream 2 (saw the first one, don’t remember it that well, but if that was it, I’d probably remember it). OTOH, maybe I’m way off base and it is some cheesy movies, though I’m fairly certain it’s not part of the Scary Movie franchise. (Or Saw or I Know What You Did Last Summer)

PS, fairly sure it’s not Cabin in the Woods or Cabin by the Lake.

One, and one last thing, I could be waaay off on this, but something in the back of my mine tells me with such cast (there was a bunch of people in the cabin) there was more than one ‘famous’ person in the cabin. Maybe at least one ‘pretty’ guy along the line of Seann Williams Scott (but again, I could be way off and maybe it was someone cheesy like Jaime Kennedy (I swear I picked that name at random and I see he’s in the Scream movies, tell me, after all these years, it’s not a Scream movie)).

Identity(?)

It’s not a “cabin in the woods” but a remote motel cut off from everywhere by a storm. All roads are flooded and impassible.

The people are not “named after months” - everyone has the same birthday.

The nurse, with the blond hair, from what I can remember smoked… and the house had a big garden and maybe a greenhouse in the yard I can’t remember if they buried the dark haired lady in the yard, I just remember the wheel chair showing up in the upstairs hallway… if anybody has a clue, boy it would be great!!! thanks

When did it come out? not a clue
Who was in it? no idea
What plot if any do you remember?
I’m hoping this thread is still active…and some miracle happens:
I was about 5 years old - in 1982 and watched a movie that I’ve been trying to find for years!
I recall a guy riding a motorbike beheaded when they strung fishing-gut along the road…
BUT - the most memorable memory I have of the movie is that, in the end, the island is swallowed by a giant glass/plastic bubble and swallowed into the ocean…
:frowning:

Horror or Sci-Fi movie or TV show of the 50’s or 60’s where at the end a boy is really a giant and the human race are like ants living in his fish tank.

Welcome Home, Johnny Bristol starred Martin Landau as an amnesiac convinced he was from a small town in Vermont. Apparently he was a returning Viet Nam vet, not a teenage orphan, and his amnesia was caused by trauma during war.

If this IS the movie, I recognized it immediately from your description, but not from that in IMDB, weirdly enough.

Sounds a bit like “I Am the Cheese.”

I have one: Early 80’s? Post apocalypse, one group of survivors in California? have a super RV/tank/train vehicle- I don’t remember if it had wheels or tracks, but I’m pretty sure it was multi-sectioned and I think it was green. Anyway, they hear on the radio from another group who were much further east.

They head through Las Vegas and find a couple of people, but also a huge cockroach population. I have vivid memories of a carpet of roaches chasing the heroes. I think it was made for TV and someone like Jan Michael Vincent was the star. The roach scene really got me, because I had stepped in a yellow jacket nest not too long before.
