The “low-level” grunt is just working a corner of this thing. But it’s the right corner. And even if the cheif of staff was seen getting a folder from the lady kidnapper, it could have been her day job, whatever she does when she’s not conspiratoring.
I may be mistaken, but I’m pretty sure the lady with the file was a different person than the kidnapper lady. There are three “mystery ladies”–the voice on the phone to the FBI agent that has the tips about room 105 and 11:14 p.m., the lady with the file and the kidnapper.
I love this show and re-watch episodes several times to pick up on subtle clues, etc. I suspected McLeish was also a victim of the same kidnapping/manipulation plot when the FBI agent’s son was seen with an ice cream, when it had been revealed earlier that McLeish’s child was “lost at the mall” and was found eating ice cream.
I don’t think so, but who knows! Maybe we will find out next week.
I’m afraid the deputy director of the FBI isn’t going to survive next week’s show. ![]()
Kidnapper lady!?!?! Who got kidnapped?
Not that I want to know. I quit watching and I don’t care about this show anymore…
I’ve been worried for awhile that he would get killed. He knows too much and he has a powerful position in the FBI.
I hope he’ll be ok. I like the actor.
I just caught up with the last 2 episodes. How long has it been since the attack now? At least there’s finally going to be a Congress; even though there’s technically been a House of Representatives all along & the first gubernatorial appointed Senators should have arrived within days. Also how can the President even think of unilaterally cancelling elections; this isn’t even a general election, it’s 433 special elections all coincidentally happing on the same day. :smack: The timing would be up to the state governments. Also does anyone watching really care at all about the First Family drama?
I haven’t read the middle few pages, so forgive me if I’m mirroring thoughts, but it feels like I’ve seen this show before. The plot and twists feel awfully familiar.
Does the kidnapper lady speak any other language than cliche?
Enjoying this show. Probably because I don’t feel the need to nitpick the minutiae & minor details. I think the show would be boring if all the i’s were dotted and the t’s were crossed.
It amazes how many crisises the TPTB can introduce in each episode.
Deputy Director Atwood’s son was kidnapped so he would agree to confess to the murder of Nassar in custody. I think this is what happened to McLeish’s child in the mall and why he is a part of this whole thing–he is being controlled also. I believe his wife said they found the child at the mall eating an ice cream cone. Same thing with Atwood’s son, the video showed him eating an ice cream cone.
I agree! I’m really looking forward to tonight’s episode, although I’m afraid we are going to lose Atwood. ![]()
Thanks to those who responded to my earlier query. Still have those two eps on my DVR.
Where did everyone go??? No comments at all after last weeks show??
What do you think will come to light tonight?
An “until March” cliffhanger. Shot fired, bullet recipient unknown. I’m guessing it’s the “Hottie from HUD” because she just got a major piece of intel and hasn’t had the chance to tell anybody. (Speculation-not spoiler.)
I agree. We have endless threads on Star Trek and Lord of the Rings and comic book movies, but show like this needs to be 100% realistic or they get nitpicked to death. Just watch CNN if you want real-life politics.
I was distracted by how quickly the Capitol building had been rebuilt.
I’m going to say the Presidents wife took the bullet.
My guess is that Hannah Wells was shot. The real question is, did the bullet that I’m pretty sure she fired hit the sniper aiming at the President? I’m guessing it did.
It’s spectacularly stupid for the conspirators to assassinate the President immediately after the new VP has been sworn in.
Mrs. MacLeish (I think her first name’s Beth) is over-the-top Manchurian Candidate, by the way.
I don’t think so. You can see the bullet she fired hitting the window frame near the sniper. (Pretty good shot with a pistol from several hundred yards, no?) It’s just enough to throw off the sniper’s aim so that instead of the president, he hits ???
Once the mystery of the attack is solved doesn’t this show eventually just become The West Wing with Kiefer as President? Not that that is necessarily a bad thing but they can’t drag this attack story out for five seasons right?
ETA: to clarify, I have been liking this so far. Just thinking ahead.
Depends on how big the conspiracy is. they can lop off the branch that did the bombing/assassination attempt and still have more out there somewhere.
