Okay, there are possibly dumb questions coming up… y’all have been warned…
I’m looking at graduate programs in psychology. There are only three universities that offer the kind I’m interested in (somatic psychology.) All three are regular, accredited programs, and the idea is that when you’ve completed them, you can sit for the exam to become a counseling psychologist. There really aren’t any clinical psychology programs in this field that I can see (the closest one is at CIIS, in San Francisco.) So the question is, once you have this kind of degree, what exactly are you qualified for? What happens if you want to go on and get a PhD? What will you be qualified for then? I DO know the difference between the kind of training needed for psychiatrists and psychologists, so at least we’ve got ONE dumb question out of the way…
