As a seasoned hiker, I am familiar with another hardy group who take dew baths. When overnight camping, it is common to get up in the morning, strip nekkid, wrap oneself in the fly-sheet of ones tent and shake vigorously. Unfortunatly (or perhaps fortunatly for some) with the increasingly crowded recreational areas, and increasingly plump hikers, this practice is becoming less regular. As for a literary reference, try "Journey Through Britain" by John Hillaby, pub 1969 World Books.
