What nationality is Dexter’s accent. I believe it is German but my friend thinks that it is Canadian, I think shes crazy.
I think it’s a mixture of Spridel (from Speed Racer) meets Natasha (evil Russian thug from Bullwinkle) .

I don’t believe it is a German accent. I could believe Russian, although I am not terribly familiar with how Russians speak English.
Canadian is completely wrong, though.

I would have to say that it’s not any particular accent, but rather an amalgamation of different accents.

I think his accent has changed some since they “rethought” shudder Dexter’s lab. He sounds way more cartoony now then he used to.
Genndy Tartakovsky was born in Moscow, and was inspired by much of his childhood misadventures with his brother
So, it seems to me that the accent is most likely a Westerner’s attempt at doing a Russian accent. I note that the voice actor’s for Dexter’s character have changed.
