DH and his goofy 3rd grade math practice questions

DH has been out of town this week and left DS some 3rd grade TAKS math practice questions (DS have been having a hard time in math and DH has been helping a lot).

The questions have been cracking us up! Here are some samples:

Every day, the workers at the Downtown Zoo feed each
Black bear 6 pounds of ham sandwiches, 2 pounds of
fish, and 1 pound of Count Chocula. The zoo has 12
black bears and 14 alligators. Which number sentence
shows how many pounds of count Chocula the Black bears
eat in 4 days?

0 12+6+4 = 22 pounds
0 18+2+3 = 23 pounds
0 12x6x2 = 144 pounds
0 12x1x4 = 44 pounds

It takes 6 hours to get from New York to San Francisco
by airplane. By clam caravan, it takes 6 days. How
many more hours does it take to get there by clam
caravan?

0 120 hours
0 138 hours
0 162 hours
0 135 hours
The current time is 8:00 am. You must be in the secret
spy headquarters by 9:45 am. How much time do you have
to get to headquarters?
Your game playing time allowed by Dad is 2 hours and
30 minutes. It is now the beginning of game time, 4:15
pm. When will Dad yell for you to stop?
Cyborg X is helping move plasma pistols. There are 79 plasma pistols in the holodeck arsenal and 200 plasma pistols in the armory in Block B. In the arms warehouse, there are 42 plasma pistols. What is the best estimate of how many more plasma pistols there are in the block B armory then there are in the holodeck arsenal and the arms warehouse combined?

Ha ha. Good thing DH is a cartoon fan!

This one? This one here? This is gold.

Ya, that one cracked me up. Clam caravan? (I’d have guessed clam caravan would take alot longer that 6 days!)

48 lbs?
