Diagnose Me

I’ve got a doctors appointment tomorrow but I’d like to have something to bring up. My symptoms are: [ul]

[li]Firstly, some moderate pains on my left leg. My left foot has been feeling a little tingly but that comes and goes.[/li][li]When I wake up in the mornings breathing is difficult. It hurts my chest to breathe and it is uncomfortable. Then I belch/burp a few times and it’s pretty well back to normal. That’s never happened before.[/li][li]I’ve had 3 bad nosebleeds (two in right nostril and one in left nostril) in the last two days. I used to get nosebleeds a lot but I haven’t had any for several months until yesterday.[/li][/ul]

I’m a 20 year old male with mild asthma. I’m of average weight and height. I exercise twice a week on average. I spend a lot of time sitting at the computer.

Over to you.

I also take ventolin for my asthma and have done for years. Forgot to mention that.

You should bring up your symptoms and let your doctor do his job! You’ll get a much better diagnosis that way.

  1. You are right to go to the Doctor.

  2. IANAD but do have asthma - sounds like you need to switch prescriptions. Sometimes your body just begins to not react the same when taking long term medications. Be sure to describe this IN DETAIL to your doctor, so she will best know what will help you.

  3. Leg pain? Dunno, could be just about anything, but I’d lean toward a pinched nerve or some such.

Good Luck.

Hey McMurphy:D. It’s tough for med-pros to diagnose you over the net, and our docs here on SDMB try to avoid doing so, due to all kinds of difficulties which could arise from this.

You might try re-phrasing your thread title a little, so that while you include your symptoms, you aren’t at the same time putting someone on the spot.

For example, I am a recent recipient of a stiff middle finger due to arthritis. (I seem to constantly be flipping people off, because it hurts to bend the SOB!:)) I posted about it, gave some details and got some answers as to what meds help and which don’t. But that’s all I got, and all I wanted.

I hope everything turns out well for you at the doc’s office tomorrow. You are right to make a list of your symptoms, because this will give your doc a good place to start.

With your breathing, IANAD, but it sounds like you may be a mouth-breather and swallowing some air during the night, which is then relieved by your belching. Unexplained nosebleeds are a major symptom and may be related to your blood pressure.

Hope you feel better soon.
