I’ve seen the video. Several times. So have others, whose medical knowledge is better than mine, especially when it comes to strokes and stroke symptoms.
Granted, none of us will ever know the medical details, but it sure looks like a stroke occurred.
There’s no way to know, since Mr. Mukasey is under no obligation to make his medical records public.
Several things can cause symptoms that superficially resemble a stroke, though. A simple bout of low blood pressure can cause confusion, slurred speech, and fainting.
I wonder if he locked his knees while making the speech. In high school marching band we were taught that locking your knees while standing at attention is a bad idea.
He issued a statement today saying that tests found nothing wrong, and he’s feeling fine.
Hope he’s OK, but it really doesn’t matter for the country. He’ll be gone in a few months anyway.
