I heard a little bit about the 27 “weird pneumonia” cases on New Year’s Eve, but my cat had just died two days earlier so I was a bit too distracted to think much about it. I was already pretty concerned by the end of J when the Diamond Princess stuff was going on and cases began popping up out west but I still didn’t anticipate that we would end up in lockdown like China. Not until they started massively screwing up testing.
