I’m just wondering what Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst were like around those times compared to today. Also, were Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst very different culturally in that time? Was there any inter-borough rivalry between the two neighborhoods? What were fun things kids did in Brooklyn back then? Also, did “Hippie culture” really penetrate Brooklyn all that deeply in the 60s? I ask because I know until the last 20 years ago or so Brooklyn was generally a rather conservative place, compared to Manhattan at least.
