Did/Do I have a computer virus?

Last night I had this computer on and it started slowing down, the screen and mouse started flickering. I opened up Task manager and saw that a process called Aedxaaxhhwl .e x e was using up nearly 100% of my CPU. There were about 10 of these opened up in the process window. It said they were associated with Google Chrome.

I deleted Google Chrome and restarted but the same thing happened.

I then attempted to end the processes in task manager but as soon as I would end one another one would start up.

I then did a system restore to previous day and things seem back to normal.

Whats troubling to me is that googling this returns nothing and I cant find it on any of the exe lists.

What to do? Who should I report this to? This a new virus?

BTW when this first happened I had ESPN on, checking the score of the Cowboys and Redskins game

Virus or member of the plethora of crap software that seems to blooming of late.

many viruses use random names to avoid looking them up or to help camoflage themselves from searches.

dont worry about reporting it.

consider yourself lucky a system restore straightened you out.

The latest trick is to install viruses and Google Chrome extensions. Go to your extensions (under “Tools”) and delete anything that’s unfamiliar.
