Did E.T. levitate objects, besides the bikes?

In E.T. the Extraterrestrial did E.T. levitate any objects besides lifting the boys and their bikes?

Yes, he levitated a bunch of balls in Elliot’s room to show the solar system. Probably some other stuff. I had the tie-in book as well, so may be remembering stuff that wasn’t in the movie.

He could levitate anything that started with the letter B (in English).

No, that was a pretty important scene in the movie.

That is a very specific spell for an evil demon-wizard or offspring of Tsathoggua to have learned.

Stranger

You mean it wasn’t the power of love?

That’s another movie

Yeah, we’re talking about the movie that ended with ET appearing at a Neil Diamond benefit concert, performing a duet of “Heartlight.”

Right?

Along with the boy and the girl from “Big.”

Didn’t he levitate the bicycle that he was being given a ride upon? I remember it passing across the sky under a full moon, right?

Levitated the entire gang.

That image is so iconic, it’s used for the logo of Amblin Entertainment, Spielberg’s production company.

The movie clip has two scenes but they seem to be in reverse order. The night scene follows the late afternoon scene, doesn’t it? Or are two different days depicted?

Edited to add: Yeah, I’m pretty sure the night scene precedes the afternoon scene with the boys.

Correct. The afternoon scene with the boys was near the climax of the movie, after he was resurrected.

He could levitate himself out of a pit in the atari game. Sorta.

It came in really handy when he landed on the planet of Bitches.

Why are they still pedaling in mid-air?

Would you stop?

Did he point his finger to levitate? And have to put up his antennae first?

Because that’s how I learned it worked! From my…uncle. Yea, uncle. Martin. That’s the ticket!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the moon that big in the horizon.
