Did George Herbert Walker Bush never meet with Pope John Paul II???

In this Pope Slideshow at CNN.com (I won’t spoil the ending) the JPII is shown meeting Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush.

Even disregarding the religious nature of the Papacy, the Pope is generally seen as being a significant World Leader. So it doesn’t surprise me at all the U.S. Presidents would choose from time to time to meet the Pope. In the same slideshow we see the Pope with Gorbachev, Castro, and Arafat.

There is no picture of the Pope meeting with George H.W. Bush.

Is this just neglect on the part of the CNN archivists who put the slideshow together?

Or did George H.W. Bush never meet the Pope?

If he, in fact, never did meet the Pope, was this just that an opportunity never presented itself during his four years? Or was it a choice on the part of the administration?
