Did I Dream This: Universal E Chord?

I swear, sometimes my dreams and my realities get me so fucked up, but sometimes they also make me think and formulate ideas.

I the last 20 years ago, did someone come up with the idea that everyone who had a guitar (amplified or not) should step outside theur home and strum an E chord at a pre-determined time, so that it would be played (and maybe heard) around the world, and was that ever done?

And yeah, this qualifies as one of those dumb “Quasi-Threads” that might make you go, “Huh”?!"

Potential problem: there are lots of different E-rooted chords one can play on a guitar.

Though if asked to play an E chord, I’m pretty certain that most guitarists would play the same basic one in the first position.
