You know, the stupidity of comparing Obama to Hitler doesn’t bother me nearly so much as the pictures of Heath Ledger’s Joker makeup superimposed over Obama’s face. Often, these pictures include the words “Why so socialist?”
Now, I don’t get offended by much (especially others denigrating politicians), but those pictures disgust me in a way that I can only describe as visceral.

Obama as Joker is a relatively clever and well done photoshop that was just co-opted for the silly “Socialist?” thingie. That doesn’t seem like a big deal at all to me.
It’s also so played out and watered down that it’s hard to take seriously.
Whereas the Heath Ledger Joker is a relatively fresh villain in our minds, one that we’ve seen do gruesome, ugly things directly to other people.
Even though Hitler did far worse things on a much larger scale than the Joker, the Joker comparison is more immediate and personal and thus more visceral.
