So, I’ve just watched ‘The Future is Wild’, a documentary-style film exploring a hypothetical evolution after the disappearance of humanity, five, 100, and 200 million years in the future. I did like it fairly well, and thought I might want to check out similar ‘hypothetical’ documentaries (however you’d want to call them), and I distinctly remember reading about one that dealt with the near(er) future, more specifically, with how what remains of human civilization is being re-claimed by nature, what would last how long, and things like that.
However, neither IMDb nor google was any help in tracking down the film, and by now I wonder whether I’m not just confusing something else with ‘I Am Legend’, or something like that.
So, does this film exist, or am I just making things up again?
And further, are their other pseudo-documentaries done in a similar vein? I remember one that dealt with hypothetical ecosystems on three different planets, I think, which I saw and liked, and then there’s also ‘Walking With Dinosaurs’, which I think I have seen but can’t recall much from.
I’d been under the impression that it was called something like ‘The Future Without Us’, but all that turned up was a flic called ‘The World Without U.S.’, which apparently tries to paint a picture of the world as it would be if the USA suddenly disappeared… Has anybody seen that one? Is it worth watching?
