This is so sad. I really liked him.
Well, he was a lot funnier.
“Rice is great when you’re hungry and you want 2,000 of something.”
“I once saw a forklift lift a crate of forks. And it was way to literal for me.”
The guy was truly unique. Though I knew he had some issues in the past, I really thought he was doing much better recently. Goddamn shame.
Kinison died sober, in a car crash.
I am so sad about Mitch. I was supposed to see him in October, but had to cancel. Now I’m sick.
Dammit, this sucks
I got to see Mitch Hedberg live in Seattle two years ago. I knew Lewis Black and Dave Attel were performing, but what convinced me to buy the tickets was Mitch. He’s probably my favorite comedian. Now I wish I’d stayed afterwards and gotten an autograph.
I thought I would have seen a story on CNN’s website by now. If they were willing to post a story about the suicide of former Dead Milkmen bassist Dave Blood – certainly not the most famous entertainer – then Hedberg deserves a mention!
I was a bar manager at the complex he performed at up here for years. I’ve met him 3 times times and spent some down time with him. An overdose isn’t shocking if that’s what it was. He liked to party. He was a “functional addict” if you will.
This is a very sad day. And I waited all day to make this my last post because it’s so sad.
Mitch, give my parents a good show, you’re a natural at making people laugh.
Read that review someone posted earlier.
Wasn’t always functional.
Anyway, I kind of like my celebs to flame out. If only Dennis Miller had done the same.
He wasn’t that famous, but consider the timing. Terri Schiavo died yesterday and the Pope is about to die. Doesn’t leave a lot of room.
I guess he’s taking the escalator which is temporarily a stairway to heaven now.
I truly believe that Mitch Hedberg’s death is to Stand-Up Comedy what Elliot Smith’s death was to Music.
