Costco carried a brand of slow cooker for a while that was restaurant grade, meaning it had to perform at higher temps than traditional models.
I burned a batch of chili on low with that thing and would have set the house on fire if I hadnt randomly come home that day for some reason. This was only about 2 hours into an 8 hour cook.
