Liviv is close to Poland, and aircraft repair area seems a great place for Poland to land their MIGs they want to give to Ukraine.
Probably. As they would have a landing strip capable for a variety of aircraft. Training facilities near Poland have also been taken out.
I would not want to be driving any large transport vehicles from nearby countries across the Ukraine border.
A bit surprised that rail lines have not been taken out.
Nothing stopping Ukrainian pilots from slipping the border to a convenient spot and getting to an airfield to get the migs that way. For what it is worth, and it was 40 years ago and borders were less strict but I slipped back and forth into Canada a couple dozen times. Not every border has a wall or even a fence.
The Poles don’t want to give them directly to Ukraine, lest they annoy the Russians.
I imagine the Russians would not believe that the Ukrainians could “steal” them.
I just noticed that I typoed “transferring”.
So that was you!! We’ve been trying to find where you’re hiding!!
