Did something happen to BBC's "The News Quiz" (in U.S.)?

Because of my schedule I catch all my favorite shows via podcasts when I can.

I just recently caught “The News Quiz” episode from 25 July. There are no newer ones in my iTunes queue.

I know they rotate with “The Now Show” but they’ve both always just showed up for me, before.

I can’t find anything from a Google search, and visiting the BBC website-at least from the U.S.- just tells me nothing is available.

Is this something that’s only plaguing me or did I miss a memo somewhen?

Yes, the BBC Friday Comedy Podcast which was formerly the News Quiz and Now Show in rotation, appears to have been discontinued, for now, at least. This may be because neither show is currently going out on Radio 4 (although there is still a comedy show being broadcast in the same time slot - Marcus Brigstocke when last I looked). By the looks of things, it is planned to resume at some point in the future, though, and there is also a Comedy of the Week podcast available.

Leafing through my podcast RSS feed, last year the Friday Night Comedy podcasts took a break from August 9th to September 27th, returning with The Now Show. I expect the same hiatus is happening now.

I appreciate the information. It’s good to know that it hasn’t been canceled or something.

John Finnemore just posted a tiny update for those people who were similarly wondering. Link directly to an MP3 file.

I see the date on that download is 29 August, and the last podcast was end of July!

Thank you, though.
