Britain was able to pon off the palestinian mandate, and Jews got a homeland. So were both benefitted, or was the creation of the Jewish state more pain than help do you think?

Since the OP is seeking opinions, this is better suited to IMHO.

Britain got off well. They shucked the Mandate, and also got yanked (pun intended) out of the '56 war. They can very legitimately say, “Not our problem.”
For the Jews, it’s been pretty good. A homeland. Yeah, some wars, but, may God be praised, a homeland. “Next Year in Jerusalem” became a reality, for millions, after almost two thousand years.
Considering that during the same period, Britain was losing Burma, Ceylon, several minor protectorates and of course, India and Pakistan, I don’t think the loss of Palestine mattered much one way or another to them.
The loss of Palestine, which was supposed to house the Imperial Strategic Reserve in the Middle East, was a serious setback, and the attempt to use Egypt and Libya instead only postponed things for a few years. Essentially Britain washed its hands of the Mandate, turning the problem over to the UN to fix.
Always procrastinating…
Yes, the major benefit for Britain was they unloaded the place where they were becoming seriously unwanted rulers, both sides mad at them and someone blowing up their hotel. they didn’t have to try to keep the peace, control immigration, etc. lus, they could claim to have kept their promise to both the Jewish Europeans - a homeland - and the Arabs -here, rule this area…
The Israelis obviously got a homeland where they were in charge. there was a bit of bother getting the boundaries clearly defined, but it generally worked in their favour.
The obvious losers were the Palestinians. they lost a significant part of their UN-allocated land, their “friends” dragged them into a war which kept losing them more land and never allowed them the Palestinian state until recently.
