Carter Page assisted the FBI in their case against a Russian spy ring in NY. Evgeny Buryakov the only Russian apprehended in that case took a plea deal in March of 2016. Why would the FBI claim he was a foreign agent on the FISA warrent when they knew he wasn’t?

The politico story lies by omission, it does not include the "inconvenient’ fact that Carter Page assisted the FBI in that case up until its conclusion in 2016.
And your take on the story contains the omission that Page apparently feels like the Russians busted for spying got a raw deal.
I don’t care what he feels like. I care about what critical information about him is being omitted or lied about. Address why they lied or omitted the fact that he assisted the FBI to bust up a Russian spy ring.
How is it that you know that his status of an informant with deep Russian sympathies isn’t in the redacted sections? Further, you’re at least implying – if not outright stating – that Page was an eager informant for the FBI to bust this ring. I’ve seen nothing to support that, especially because Page kept having secret meetings with Russian oligarchs and government officials right through his time with the Trump campaign.
Sure sounds to me like the FBI twisted his nuts in 2013 to get him to talk about his association with Russian spies, he did the minimum he could not to get into trouble, and then returned to his old ways of being a Russian dupe.
Furthermore, every time the pro-Nunes crowd says something has been covered up, within a short period of time, we find that Nunes was lying. I don’t see any reason to believe that his/your claims about covering up the heroic deeds of Carter Fucking Page are credible.

So assisting the FBI or any law enforcement with an investigation precludes the possibility that he might later break the law?
Informants and witnesses can assist law enforcement with an investigation and still break the law at a later time, if they haven’t already done so. This happens with drug traffickers and hackers.
