So, the warrants should not have happened, and any legal repercussions for the doe-eyed Mr Page are squashed. Then he is free to bask in his celebrity as a feckless doofus.
Seems fair.

Page has realized all of that. He hasn’t and won’t be charged with anything and is currently basking in his celebrity. I think he’s “playing” the role of the “doofus”.
So, just to summarize, we have no evidence that the FISA application doesn’t contain mention of Page’s work, we have no evidence that he has not been working as a foreign agent before or since working with the FBI, and Page is playing 4D chess?
Such artistry has not even been approached since Francisco Franco first undertook to “play” at being dead.
You see part of the mention but the redaction process can totally change the interpretation of what you’re reading which is probably the reason for the redaction.
The FBI knows he’s not a foreign agent because he’s been working with them to convict a foreign agent.
He’s a foreign agent.
You are probably the only person on earth who thinks this.
He failed his PhD thesis twice for being a doofus.
The Russians trying to recruit him thought he was a doofus.
His former employers think he’s a doofus.
The Trump campaign let him go because of his doofusness.
Journalists have basically called him a doofus to his face during interviews, and he hasn’t actually disputed it.
But to you, he’s a genius. Can you see why nobody should believe your opinion on this is anything other than a joke?
Or because the details would threaten current American counterintelligence. Y’know, the usual reason why the FBI redacts these things. Why reach to an inane conspiracy theory on this?
This is a bit like arguing that the informant working with the FBI to convict others in his drug smuggling ring is not a drug smuggler - he may very well have been, or have been since.
He’s either working as a foreign agent or he isn’t. If he was or is, he would have been charged or indicted, none of that happened.
There’s a third possibility you’re leaving out here. See if you can think outside the box. Why would someone be under investigation, but not arrested?
Better question, where’s the evidence to back up the claim that Page is a “foreign agent”? Answer: There is none.
You first. Really work those brain muscles. In what circumstance would someone be under investigation but not under arrest?
That’s irrelevant. The FBI asserted Page was a foreign agent, he’s not, if he were he would have been charged.
Why do you insist on not answering this very simple question? It’ll help clarify so many things! Under what circumstances would someone be under investigation but not under arrest?
The question is an irrelevant hypothetical.
Naw, here’s an irrelevant hypothetical: what if you answered the question?
Trump will not allow anyone else in his inner circle to be arrested. Therefore, Page will not be arrested.
So, maybe he’s actually guilty but he still walks, because who cares? He is no threat to national security, he is too dumb to make his own oatmeal. I don’t care so much about punishing threats to our security as much as neutralizing them. And he has clearly been neutered, surprised he’s not wearing one of those cones to keep him from licking his incised nutsack.
Oh, there’s plenty.

Like the time in 2013 when he worked with a couple of Russian spies. He obtained documents for them. Even if he cooperated with the FBI to get out of trouble on that one, it doesn’t negate the fact that he was caught red-handed working with a couple of spies.
In sure that in early 2016 the good men and women of our intelligence agencies became very concerned when all these shady characters with deep ties to Russia and pro-Russian Eastern Europe factions began working for free at fairly high levels of the Trump campaign. So they investigated.
Now, the Trump / Guiliani strategy has been to lie about how law enforcement works. But here’s the truth. You don’t need to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt before you start investigating a matter. Sometimes you start investigating based on nothing but rumors. And quite often the people who give you information that help you gain further evidence against your target don’t like him. In fact, using people that dislike your target in order to gain evidence against him is a time-honored strategy.
Now, Trump is, at best, a sleazy and barely legitimate businessman who runs outright frauds (Trump University, Trump vitamins) on the side. He’s always managed to dodge criminal charges by bullying and bribery, even though his schemes have resulted in countless civil convictions and penalties.
Myself, I’m surprised by the stuff that hasn’t become an issue, like all the sleazy deals he worked with another one of his fixers, convicted felon Al Pirro. Who was married to Trump mouthpiece Jeannine Pirro.
It’s ridiculous to believe that the Steele dossier allegations were completely made up. Take the most notorious allegation ( Pee Tape ). Whether or not it’s true, we do know for a fact that Trump stayed at that hotel in the night in question and that someone offered to send FIVE hookers to Trumps room.
Now, whether or not the incident actually happened, it defies credulity to believe that it was completely made up, considering Steele got the exact day right, the exact place right and the exact number of hookers right. It seems obvious to me that the Russians at least tried to compromise Trump on that occasion. Maybe they didn’t succeed. But what we know backs up the primary allegation in the dossier, which was that the Russians tried to compromise Trump without his knowledge. Which is why his denials make no sense ( if someone told me someone had tried to pull a scam on me without my knowledge - my instinctive reaction wouldnt be denial, it would be concern. ) Unless I knew it to be true and didn’t care.
I wonder how many routine State Department approvals Trump minions pored through before they stumbled on this fairly routine approval issued to a Canadian company that Clinton was probably not even directly involved in.
Many of us are still in touch and realize that today’s Russia is very different from the Soviet boogeyman of our youth. It’s basically a crime cartel with nukes and a lions share of the worlds energy supply.
Here’s a short reading list if you care to educate yourself. I’d start with Bill Browder’s Red Notice, which I read before Trump became a candidate. You might also try
Winter is Coming by Garry Kasparov
Nothing is True and Everything is Possible by Peter Pomerantsev
Then you might think twice about mounting a vigorous defense based solely on the fact that you believe whatever Trump thinks you should without any independent study. If you want to provide me with a similar reading list that supports your theory that Russia has and honorable and good government that is unfairly targeted by our corrupt law enforcement, have at it — I’ll give them a go.
