I don’t know, but I motion that we should name it “Hubert.”
Oh, there called it many names at the time…but we can’t repeat them here!
I suspect “that fucking iceberg” was muttered more than once
It was named ‘Monica’, after my ex-wife.
You got it. The iceberg that sank the Titanic has officially and for all time been named “The Iceberg that Sank the Titanic” by the Fayette County ad hoc invitational committee for naming icebergs. “Herbert” was the second choice. “Fucking” was not seriously considered because that is every iceberg’s middle name.
I’m thinking of two possibilities.
I doubt that it was ever actually named, but there is a photo of it available here and here.
Note the scrape marks and fresh break in the upper right corner, which apparently match with the recorded damage on the Titanic. Also the shape (similar to Rock of Gibralter) matches the eyewitness descriptions.
Yep, the second one is probably it. The funny thing is they hadn’t even heard about the Titanic yet, but saw the paint scrape on the side of the 'berg.
Wouldn’t it be melted by now? Afterall, it wouldn’t be stationary after all these years.
Good heavens! That’s Waldo!
My two top votes:
“Lucky”
“Hubris”
BTW, for $20, I’ll sell you a piece of the iceberg that sunk the Titanic.
My heart will go on, 'til it sinks in the icy waters, then, it will stop.
Exactly. Iceburgs aren’t named because their existance is temporary at best. As they drift south, they melt away into oblivion.
