Did Tom Petty just slap Hip Hop?

His “Mad Hatter from Wonderland” days were approaching Elton-esque extremity.

You should go to a concert someday. I didn’t really care for Last DJ either, but he puts on one hell of a show.

You’ve already shown us on numerous occasions what you think of hip-hop/rap, and sometimes you’ve tried to do it in a cutesy/joking way.

However you do it, it’s getting old.

There! Is! No! God!

Baloney. Nobody his age got into rock music to impress chicks and hopefully make it big? You don’t seriously believe that, do you?

If Tom Petty isn’t in it for the money, why did he record the entire soundtrack for a shitty movie like “She’s The One”? Sorry, but musicians have always had a mercenary streak and he’s no exception. Guys have gotten into music with the hopes of getting cash and poontang for decades, and will for decades more.

Nonsense. Lauryn Hill isn’t talented? Kanye West? OutKast doesn’t have talent? Gosh, if it’s that easy, why aren’t you releasing your own hip hop album to rake in the big bux?

You know why Tom Petty complains about hip hop? Because he’s fucking old. Also, he’s really fucking white.

He ain’t heavy. He’s my brother.

Hang on, there, he didn’t say hip hop artists weren’t talented, he said they didn’t play music. Do any of the artist you mentioned actually play any instruments themselves? And, even if they, do, he did say most. I know there are exceptions, but aren’t most rap artists just singers/songwriters?

Oh, I’m a big fan. I’ve seen him twice, and he does put on a hell of a show. I just don’t think he did a good job of voicing his grievances. It’s a sour album. “And Money Became King?” Forget it.

There just are no words.

VCNJ~

I saw him but I wasn’t really paying attention to what he said, I was too distracted by how scary he looked.

Well, scarier than usual.

Gaahh!

I don’t think that’s safe for work anywhere! How can I excise that image from my brain?

That man needs to tighten his belt.
