The office is shaking here in Northern VA. Are we having an earthquake? It lasted about 30 seconds so it wasn’t a car crash or something like that.
Anyone else on Long Island just feel that?
Yeah definitely had one in DC.
Southern Maryland was shaking also. Scared the bedoobies outta me till I figured out what it was. Freaked out my cats and dog, too.
We felt it Baltimore. They’re saying it was a 5.8.
This was my first earthquake!
We felt it in Manhattan, too. It wasn’t that different from what you feel when a subway train passes right underneath you.
Was just going to ask this - was outside between buildings at my office & buildings and ground shook for 10-20 seconds. I’m in No VA off i-395 near King St & Seminary Road. No injuries, but several evacuated buildings.
Time to merge some threads…
I’m from California so I know earthquakes but they’re not supposed to happen here. This one was pretty strong too. I see the usgs site already has it listed. Glad to see I’m not crazy.
Mrs. Gadaí informs me she felt it in Cleveland.
Things shook for a few seconds here in northern DE. First I thought it was someone working on the roof, but them my monitors started shaking on my desk.
We had a 5.3 quake in Colorado at just about midnight last night. That is extremely rare. Colorado is one of the most seismically stable parts of the country.
That was a 5.8-magnitude. The Pentagon and the Capital building were evacuated as precautions. I felt something but it didn’t occur to me that it was an earthquake, and then people started to notice the overhead lights were swinging in place.
I felt one in Dublin, Ohio at about 1:55.
Just felt it in Deep River, Ontario.
We felt it here in our office in NYC. That was the first earthquake I’ve ever felt!
Felt it in Boston about 10 minutes ago.
Felt in in DC. Completely new experience. New Madrid Fault?
The fuck? Gimme back our quakes!!
Felt it here in NC. This has never happened before
