Yesterday at work, a customer who heard me talking to one of the floormen about my confirmation told me that her son-in-law had just been confirmed last year. I said, “I think it means more to you if you were an adult.” She agreed. She said she used to teach confirmation classes to eighth graders and they just didn’t care. They were only doing it because their parents wanted them to.
Then I asked her if any of the kids were ever caught using crib notes on their scrutiny. She laughed and said no.
But I wonder, is it done? Come on, all you Catholic kids. Did you do it? Did you use crib notes? Get hold of a copy of the priests questions in advance and memorize the answers? Have your ear to the keyhole when one of the more devout kids was having their scrutiny, so you could “copy” their answers?
