I’ve had the 2 doses of Shingrix and after the first shot I noticed slight pain, like bruising, around the injection site. That lasted for about 4 days. The second shot had the same discomfort but it only lasted about a day and a half. For the poll I said no side effects.
While true, something has to trigger the dormant virus. And a weakened immune system due to stress is a possible trigger.
I was a guinea pig for the current shingles shot - after the study was finished I was told I got the real shot not the saline water shot. Other than a bit tender for a day where the shots were, nothing. Given what I know about shingles, almost any short term side effect would be worth avoiding shingles! Given I just spent the past almost year dealing with stage 3 cancer, complete with trashed immune system I was glad to avoid any shingles [though I did pick up a case of pneumonia while hospitalized]
