I’d think the White Album would be better, but maybe that’s cliche. Still, I promised myself that I would listen to Revolution #9 while under the influence of something at some point. Looks like I’ve got a New Year’s Eve project.
It’s a great album to listen to, period. It might be their best, but that’s a tough call. Not only does it have some really novel arrangements (I hear new things every time I listen, and I’ve been listening for the past decade or so), but I think Paul really got the hang of his new Rickenbacker bass around then as well. Not to mention Ringo’s drumming on “She Said She Said.”
