Trump is definitely in danger from crazies on the right considering all the promises he made that he either can’t or won’t fulfill. Someone could think he’s a lying politician like all the others and feel betrayed and come for him. I don’t hope for that, and I know the Secret Service can do their job, but there could be all sorts of crazies after him.
Also, you must not have been paying attention if you think the racists didn’t mind Obama being elected.
Just did some quick research- Teddy Roosevelt was no longer President when he was shot- Taft was. Teddy was shot while running against Taft on the Bull Moose (Protressive) ticket.
FDR was almost assassinated before taking office.
Regardless, the fact remains that ANY American president faces genuine threats to his life. Obama was in as much danger as LBJ, Nixon, Carter or Dubya- no more, no less.
I was 11 years old when JFK was assassinated, 15 when MLK was assassinated, 16 when RFK was assassinated and 20 when George Wallace was shot at a campaign rally.
Ever since I was 23 and Gerald Ford was targeted twice in three weeks:eek:, I’ve been expecting EVERY president and most candidates to be a target.
I figured Obama stood a higher chance of being assassinated than other presidents, but that it was still very low odds, akin to a modern airliner’s odds of crashing - one type of Boeing may be slightly more likely to crash than another type of Boeing, but both are very, very low odds.

Pretty much. I still can’t believe that there are people who didn’t think that there would be multiple serious attempts on his life.
I thought there would be several attempts during his first term. I’m glad that there weren’t.
Just because he wasn’t shot down, doesn’t mean racists don’t care that he was elected. Far from it.
