I voted this morning a little before 0800.
There’s a law (at least in California) that says employees can have up to two hours off in order to vote. So I got into work an hour late.

Well, it can never beat the sign that said Move-ing Sale where there was barely any room for the ‘E’. And maybe the quotes were there because you don’t actually need to show ID in Virginia. They’ll make you sign a letter. OK that was a reach, but hey this is Virginia!
It took me forty minutes to make it through the ‘M-Z’ line. The folks in the ‘A-L’ were in and out in fifteen.
Oh, I forgot to mention:
Well in DC, (last I heard) they still use the paper forms put into the ballot boxes.
I’m proud to report that I just returned from my local polling location, and I have fulfilled my civic duty. And what a joy it was. My polling place was a coffee shop with two booths. There was one other voter there when I arrived. I was in and out in 10 minutes. It was beautiful.
For exit poll purposes: I voted for Gore, but I voted Green Party for state senate.
I voted on my way to work this morning. I think I got there around 8:45, walked in and there was no line for my precinct. In fact, the person checking off names for my precinct was asleep. I guess my neighbors must be late risers.
Here’s a neat site: http://www.dnet.org You can enter your zip code and see all the races and ballot measures that will be on your ballot. Too bad I didn’t find it until after I had voted.
i was number 337 at my polling station. unreal.
Went at 1pm…heavy turnout(ME).
I voted. My sister voted. My mother voted. Several people at work voted. I don’t know about anyone else.
There was only one other voter at the polling place when I got there, about a half dozen or so when I left. I went right after work.
I voted, and I studied every bond and proposition on the ballot.
Then I vote no on all the jerks running unopposed.
What’s with that?
At least we had no dead guys on the ballot this year  like last time.
I’m in Oregon, where all voting is by mail. I voted two weeks ago.
(Pretty good system, by the way – we had 60 percent voter turnout yesterday, and it’s estimated that it’ll be closer to 85 by the time the polls close tonight.)
