I drive rickshaws here in charleston (a bike with seats on the back for people to sit in while I haul them around). I was wondering for a job this physically demanding, what kind of things should I be sure to have in my diet? Also, are there foods that speed up matabolism? I did this job to get in shape, but I haven’t seen any results (granted, it’s only been two weeks).
Just eat lots of fresh vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. Try to eat some nuts or nut butters once in a while. And if you like meat and dairy, try to stick with the low or no-fat type (for example non-fat yogurt or non-oily fish).
The nuts should boost your metabolism and give you energy (along with a lot of fiber).
By the way, almonds and walnuts have the most fiber and energy and lowest fat.
Peanuts, cashews, and macadamia nuts are the fattiest with the least fiber.
Also, you could consider taking a multi-vitamin and mineral suppliment.
