Wow, that just completely missed the prompt, but yeah, it came out pretty cool anyway.
Although, what’s up with that ribbon?

Well, I’m not a real priest. I don’t know how to wear that shit.
I love the Simpsons-style hands.
Or humans never figuted out such a sweet MASH unit. Now that’s what I call mobile!
And plenty of private spaces for Hot Lips and Frank to be caught in flagrante delicto.
As I like doing visual puns/rhymes, a while back I wanted to try for Klinger and a Klingon. First I just tried for Klinger from M.A.S.H. This was the most interesting result.
(Klinger with a Klingon was a failure as a prompt.)
OK, I’m kind of flabbergasted that it doesn’t understand MASH. I mean, it was one of the biggest TV shows ever. It’s definitely out there in popular culture, with plenty of visual media associated with it.
If I recall, I got similar results on the Mobile Army Surgical Hospital thing. I seem to remember that MASH, doesn’t really mean anything to AI - except possibly a potato - and I have no idea what asterisks do the syntax.
Bing does seem to know “M*A*S*H” is vaguely military. I get olive drab clothed men (usually) holding small arms.
Meanwhile I’m playing with angry creatures riding tricycles in a snowfall in famous places.
I thought that last was pretty hilarious. Otterly.
Bing did basically fine for me:
Prompt was just “a polaroid photo of a M*A*S*H unit in the field”
I had added “korean war era” originally, but it flagged me for a content violation! Guess it doesn’t like the word “war” at all.
Well, those tents are more temporary than what you’d see at a MASH unit, and there’s no hint of anything medical there, but it’s at least closer than the mobile construction system @squeegee got.
It’s not perfect. But it looks like there are a couple of larger and more permanent tents in the distance. And this real picture of a MASH unit doesn’t have medical symbols visible anywhere either:
I do kinda like the idea of a truly mobile field hospital.
I occurred to me that “Polaroid photo” might have been an anachronism with respect to the Korean war. But it looks like the Model 95 Land Camera came out in 1948, so I just barely made the cutoff.
“MASH Unit” in Midjourney was a total failure…
With asterisks, it understood the military intent (even if it displayed in Discord as MAS*H Unit) though was still sketchy
As M.A.S.H. unit, it got a lot closer
And “DVD Screengrab of “MASH”, 1982” gave some plausible looking stills. No identifiable actors but that could easily be a one-off character
But what it never did get was the medical aspect of a MASH Unit. It got the military aspect down but no doctors, medical equipment, wounded soldiers, etc.
A new example of Bing embellishing on a prompt, which was only “photo of a naugahyde nauga’s hide”.
Additional runs of the prompt produced extremely different results.
I wish there was a way to see the actual prompt passed from the GTP to Dall-E 3. They should imbed that in the EXIF data.
Have you looked w a hex editor? Catbird (RIP) would produce PNGs with the prompt (including any weird prompt magic) embedded. I never figured out what program could rip that back out, so I’d just look with HxD.
Click on the image, then click on the little circle-i in the upper right corner.
In your next prompt you can ask what the exact image prompt was, but I suspect it sometimes hallucinates that answer. You’ve got no choice though when there was an error and no image produced.
