Having discussed digital sound with a number of sound engineers, the name of TOM STOCKHAM kept coming up as the father of digital sound? Is this true and can you tell me something about him?

The site has a list of the articles he has written for various magazines etc. and states they were from 1990-1999. I can’t seem to find that particular article through his site though. From the body of the article though it would seem to be 1994 or after.
