So apparently there’s a famous Dilbert cartoon which illustrates the truism that “When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail”. In this strip, a problem is presented at some company meeting. Everyone says an answer which happens to match their personal “hammer” – then in the last panel, a porcupine sitting at the end of the meeting table goes “We must stick them with quills! It’s the only way!”
If anyone has a link to this strip I’d love to print it out and frame it above my desk.
www.dilbert.com only provides the last month of strips, and the one you’re talking about was old four years ago. As Lord Ashtar says, the people there might help, but probably not for free. Your best bet is to find someone who has one of the old collections of Dilbert cartoons and make a copy; I think that one was in Shave the Whales but I’m not 100% sure.
cmkeller - you’re a true genius. A quick jaunt over to Amazon.com, and thanks to their new “Search inside this book” feature, I was able to find that book and then see the actual page within it! I have seen the comic!!
I’m so happy right now I feel like sticking you all with the finest quills available.
